The Prime Minister noted that the referendum should be held when a roadmap is available

Armenia will soon begin the process of submitting an official application for EU membership, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced from the parliamentary podium:

The Prime Minister stated today that the referendum on joining the European Union should be held not at the start of the process, but when there is already a clear roadmap:

“My understanding is that we will hold a referendum after receiving a corresponding response to the official application for EU membership and having a roadmap for the process,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan:

At the end of May, the leaders of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan jointly urged official Yerevan to conduct a referendum on joining the EU or remaining in the Eurasian Economic Union in the near future:

“We perceive this as a friendly gesture, which we highly appreciate. I am confident that such a referendum will definitely take place in Armenia; the issue is the timing,” said Pashinyan:
