Armenia has begun exporting aluminum foil to Azerbaijan, according to Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, who spoke after a government meeting.
Papoyan said he could not recall how many tons had been shipped and promised to provide that figure later, Sputnik Armenia reported.
Asked whether other goods could also be exported from Armenia to Azerbaijan, the minister replied: “We’ll see.”
Earlier, on August 31, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan told Public Television that information would soon emerge about Azerbaijani companies buying goods from Armenian companies, without specifying which products were involved.
In July, Shahin Baghirov, chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, said that between January and June 2026 more than $17 million worth of products had been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
Aluminum foil in Armenia is produced by the Armenal plant.
