Armenian Economy Minister Declares No Diesel Fuel Deficit

YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. There is no deficit of diesel fuel in Armenia, said the Minister of Economy of the RA Gevorg Papoyan.

“At the moment, we do not have a problem with a shortage of diesel fuel. There is no cheap gasoline in the world right now, as global prices have risen 2-2.5 times, while in Armenia the increase was only 10-20%,” Papoyan told reporters, responding to a question about whether a lack of fuel in Russia could affect Armenia.

According to him, Armenia has already diversified its fuel supply chains.

“When the crisis related to Iran arose and global gasoline prices doubled, the increase in Armenia was only 5-10% because we started importing fuel from a country we had not previously sourced from. Thanks to our actions, citizens have been using significantly cheaper gasoline for several months,” the minister stated.

According to Armstat, in May 2026, compared to May 2025, gasoline in Armenia rose by 8.9%, while diesel fuel increased by 17.1%.

On a monthly basis, compared to April 2026, gasoline prices rose by 2.9%, while diesel prices increased by 6%.
