Potential Growth of Armenia's Economy Estimated at 5–5.5% - Finance Minister

Finance Minister Vage Ovanisyan presented the economic growth forecasts

YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. The potential growth of Armenia's economy is estimated at 5–5.5%, said the Minister of Finance of Armenia, Vage Ovanisyan, in an interview with Shant TV.

“According to our assessment, the potential for our growth has changed and increased in recent years. Previously, we said that our growth potential was estimated at 4–4.5%, but now it is estimated at 5–5.5%,” Ovanisyan said.

The minister linked the growth potential of the Armenian economy to large investments in economic infrastructure, significant private sector investments in modernization, and investments in human capital development.

According to him, productivity is increasing, and the results of comprehensive investments in various areas will manifest in the future.

Commenting on the average economic growth of 6% envisaged by the new five-year government program, compared to the target of 7% in the previous program, Ovanisyan noted that he does not consider this a reduction in ambitions.
