The Armenian Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, participated in the 7th meeting of the EAEU Agricultural Policy Council in Almaty on August 13. According to the Ministry's press service, the minister presented the status of Armenia's agricultural complex and its development priorities, emphasizing the importance of intensifying agriculture, increasing productivity, implementing modern technologies, and developing digital agriculture.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to expanding processing capacities, developing smart farms, drip irrigation systems, and satellite land monitoring.
It is noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the gross agricultural output of Armenia decreased by 10.2% in the first half of 2026, amounting to 345.1 billion drams.
Recall that since the end of May this year, authorized Russian bodies have imposed restrictions on the import of products from Armenia due to violations identified during inspections.
