On the interbank currency market of Armenia, the volume of dollar transactions surged to $200 million on August 21, with an almost unchanged exchange rate. On that day, $193.7 million was bought at an average rate of 364.93 drams/$1 and $179.7 million was sold at an average rate of 365.40 drams/$1. This is more than 4-5 times the volumes of buying and selling from the previous day (August 20).
From August 17 to 21, a total of $335.6 million was bought and $388.4 million was sold on the interbank currency market.
The average buying rate for the reporting week was 364.14 drams/$1, while the selling rate was 366.04 drams/$1.
