The Armenian government plans to build or overhaul about 40 bridges between 2026 and 2031. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a visit to the capital repairs of the Kiev Bridge, which were completed two weeks ahead of schedule.
The last major renovation of the Kiev Bridge was conducted in July-August 1995 to address drainage issues. A 20-year warranty was provided for this year's repairs.
The responsible parties reported to the Prime Minister that during the capital repairs, deformation joints were restored, drainage and waterproofing systems were installed, and new galvanized railings were put in place.
It was noted that for the first time in Armenia, a special polymer concrete material was used in the deformation joint area, designed to minimize impact loads and vibrations when vehicles pass over the bridge.
