Citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan will have the opportunity to provide information about missing persons, including potential burial sites, under conditions of confidentiality:
According to the Azerbaijani APA agency, this was announced by the Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, Sharafat Hasanov, at the international conference titled “Modern Approaches to Solving the Issue of Missing Persons and Strengthening Cooperation,” held in collaboration with the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP):
Hasanov stated that the Missing Persons Data Management System (IDMS) developed by ICMP will allow for the consolidation of existing databases on missing persons into a single platform, ensuring simultaneous data entry and processing by the relevant state bodies, and accelerating the receipt of information and decision-making:
He noted that to install and launch the system, two ICMP specialists arrived in Azerbaijan in early June, who conducted software installation and provided relevant training:
According to Hasanov, the system will be hosted on servers located in Azerbaijan, and access will be granted only to authorized personnel who have undergone training:
He also emphasized that within the framework of the system, citizens of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be able to provide confidential information about missing persons, including their potential burial sites. This information will be used solely for humanitarian purposes, and those providing information will not be held accountable in any circumstances:
