Armenia’s ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grigor Hakobyan, met with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of Iranian Railways, Jabbar Ali Zakari.
The two sides discussed the infrastructure of the railway networks of Armenia and Iran, as well as the opportunities currently available for cooperation.
Hakobyan outlined Armenia’s approaches to unblocking regional communications, stressing the potential for developing routes through Armenia, improving transport efficiency and expanding regional economic ties.
The meeting also touched on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project. According to the source, the ambassador presented the project’s core principles and approaches, including mechanisms envisaged in the context of respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the unblocking of regional communications and the promotion of economic cooperation.
