YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. The total investment portfolio of commercial banks in Armenia at the end of June 2026 amounted to 1,933,341,220 thousand drams, a decrease of 202.38 billion drams, or 9.48%, year-to-date:
In the second quarter alone, the banks’ investment portfolio decreased by 280.76 billion drams, or 12.68%:
The bulk of the portfolio—1.26 trillion drams, or 65.17%—was made up of investments held to maturity:
The volume of investments held for sale reached 624.15 billion drams, accounting for 32.28%. Financial investments for commercial purposes accounted for 38.72 billion drams, or 2% of the total portfolio, while investments in the authorized capital of controlled entities accounted for 10.51 billion drams, or 0.54%:
Ardshinbank had the largest investment portfolio at the end of June, at 306.45 billion drams. Since the beginning of the year, this figure has decreased by 29.86%, and in the second quarter, by 40.4%:
AMIO Bank ranked second in terms of investment portfolio size with a figure of 259.92 billion drams, up 7.2% year-to-date and down 4.6% quarter-on-quarter. It was followed by Ameriabank with 210.07 billion drams (down 17.26% year-to-date and 0.84% quarter-on-quarter), Inecobank with 175.1 billion drams (down 4.55% year-to-date and 6.64% quarter-on-quarter), and ArmSwissBank with 172.08 billion drams (down 9.75% year-to-date and 4.38% quarter-on-quarter):
Fast Bank demonstrated the largest investment portfolio growth in the second quarter, up 70.53% to 38.76 billion drams. Armeconombank’s figure increased by 5.51%, to 103.16 billion drams, while Unibank’s investment portfolio increased by 5.39%, to 26.43 billion drams:
Since the beginning of the year, the most significant growth was recorded by Byblos Bank Armenia (37.64%), Fast Bank (37.51%), and Armeconombank (15.4%):
The most significant decrease in the investment portfolio since the beginning of the year was recorded by Ardshinbank (29.86%), Converse Bank (20.16%), Ameriabank (17.26%), Evocabank (14.37%), and IDBank (13.85%):
As of June 30, 2026, there were 17 commercial banks operating in Armenia. The average investment portfolio of one bank was 113.73 billion drams:
