YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in January-June 2026 reached 1,041,598, up 14.8% from 907,135 in the same period of 2025, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic.
Among the tourists who visited Armenia from January to June, 443,930 were women and 597,668 were men. The majority of visitors were aged 36-63 years (544,984 people), while the least were aged 16-17 years (12,433 people).
The report notes that 164 people arrived from unknown countries, and 13 people from Azerbaijan.
The largest number of tourists came from Russia (416,743 people or 40% of the total, an increase of 23.3% compared to the first quarter of last year), Georgia (150,322 people or 14.4%, an increase of 17.2%), and Iran (81,180 people or 7.8%, an increase of 4%).
Additionally, Armenia was visited by citizens from China (17,733), Germany (17,487), the USA (16,399), Ukraine (15,725), France (13,709), Italy (12,336), India (9,105), Belarus (8,149), Turkey (7,262), the Netherlands (6,122), the United Kingdom (6,018), Poland (5,817), Kazakhstan (5,750), Cyprus (5,674), South Korea (5,275), Romania (4,987), Spain (4,762), the Philippines (4,363), Belgium (4,116), the Czech Republic (3,917), Greece (3,718), Austria (2,741), Israel (2,467), Moldova (2,314), Sweden (2,199), and Slovakia (2,167).
The least number of tourists came from the Bahamas, Botswana, Burundi, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Grenada, Timor-Leste, and Liberia, with just one person from each. Two people arrived from Gambia, Zambia, Congo, Haiti, Jamaica, Madagascar, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Suriname, and Fiji. Three people came from Guinea, Honduras, Swaziland, and Togo.
At the same time, it is reported that 686,277 tourists left the country in the first half of 2026, compared to 748,331 in the same period of 2025 (a decrease of 8.3%).
