YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Goods imported from Armenia must meet the veterinary and phytosanitary standards of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and suppliers must comply with safety standards for the exported products. This will be a condition for the resumption of imports of goods that are currently under restrictions, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture stated.
"Ensuring the safety of agricultural products, including the use of raw materials by Armenian producers, pesticide control, traceability of supplies, and other mandatory requirements is a crucial condition for the resumption of imports of goods that are currently under restrictions," the ministry's statement said.
On restrictions on Armenian product supplies to the Russian Federation
Since late May, Russia has been gradually introducing restrictions on the supply of certain types of products from Armenia, citing violations of phytosanitary requirements. The restrictions have affected floral products, mineral water, some beverages and certain types of alcoholic products, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, and later — live fish and fish products, and since July 27 — dairy products.
The restrictions also include a ban on the transit of Armenian-origin products through Russian territory to other EAEU countries.
