According to Anna Fedunina, an associate professor at the Higher School of Economics, the impact of export restrictions on Armenia's products to Russia will be felt in the second half of 2026.
"It is clear that the pronounced effect on Armenian exports to Russia will manifest itself in the second half of 2026 when the restrictions come into force and affect a significant portion of seasonal supplies of berries, vegetables, and fruits," she said.
The restrictive measures were introduced gradually from the end of May through June 2026.
According to calculations by the Center for Structural Policy Research at HSE, in January-May 2026, Armenia's exports amounted to $2.86 billion, a decrease of 3.7% compared to the same period in 2025.
