Armenia plans to start exporting fish to Georgia, reports Aliq Media:
According to the news website Caspianpost.com, negotiations for supplying fish products to Georgia are already ready.
The site reports that the embassy emphasized that Armenia will continue cooperation with Georgia to expand trade and economic relations.
This intention of the Armenian side is due to the decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor, which banned the import of Armenian products, including fish.
Since the end of May, Russia has been systematically banning the import of various goods from Armenia. In the last two months, imports of flowers, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, potatoes, greens, strawberries, cherries, grapes, pears, plums, dried fruits, live fish, and alcohol have been restricted. The transit of these goods through Russia to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has also been banned.
The first restrictions were introduced against the backdrop of preparations for the parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7, and after the victory of Pashinyan's party, their number sharply increased.
