The Armenian government plans to acquire $25 million in high-performance computing resources from Fibered AI for a five-year period to develop modern artificial intelligence infrastructure in Armenia. According to Armenpress, the relevant non-reportable project is included in the agenda of the government meeting on July 16.
The project proposes to redistribute funds in the 2026 state budget and allocate 957 million 876 thousand drams from state support provided to commercial organizations and individual entrepreneurs in the information technology sector to finance the new program.
The new initiative aims to acquire high-performance computing resources and the power of leading graphic processors necessary for artificial intelligence systems.
The Ministry of High Technology will acquire the resources through a single-source procurement procedure from Fibered AI LLC. According to the justification, the company has special and exclusive rights to provide the necessary technological solutions.
The relevant contract between the ministry and the company was signed on April 17, 2026.
Fibered AI plans to launch the first and largest artificial intelligence supercomputer in the Caucasus region, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell graphic processors, in Armenia in 2026.
The acquired resources are intended to be made available to startups, research teams, universities, individual specialists, and public authorities operating in the field of artificial intelligence.
They can be used for designing, training, and deploying artificial intelligence models, as well as for conducting scientific research.
The program's performance indicator has been set to satisfy at least 60 percent of the received applications.
Adoption of the project will not incur additional costs in the 2026 state budget. The funds will be allocated from the already approved budget program through redistribution.
