Armenia and Kazakhstan Discussed Opportunities for Expanding Cooperation in Agriculture

Opportunities for expanding cooperation in agriculture have been discussed

The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, met with the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in agriculture, increasing mutual trade turnover, implementing joint investment programs, and exchanging modern agrotechnologies and experiences.

Papoyan pointed out the potential for increasing the export of Armenian agricultural and food products, particularly winemaking, horticultural, and fishery products, to Kazakhstan.

According to the data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan in the first half of 2026 amounted to $48.5 million, which exceeds last year's figure by 16.3%. However, exports decreased by 35.2% to $19.9 million, against a backdrop of a 2.6-fold increase in imports to $28.6 million.
