Armenia has demonstrated the highest growth rates in freight and passenger traffic among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the first half of 2026.
According to the data from the Eurasian Economic Commission, in January-June 2026, passenger traffic in Armenia increased by 7.3% compared to the same period last year. For comparison, Belarus saw a growth of 7.2%, Kazakhstan 5.1%, and Kyrgyzstan 4.9%. Overall, passenger traffic in the EAEU increased by 0.5%.
Armenia also leads in the growth rates of freight traffic. In the first half of the year, the volume of freight traffic in the republic increased by 12.1%. In Kyrgyzstan, the growth of freight transport was 3.1%, in Kazakhstan 2%, and in Belarus 1.5%.
In Russia, a decline was recorded for January-June 2026: passenger traffic decreased by 0.9% and freight traffic by 0.6%.
