Armenia offers Russian partners to check the quality of Armenian goods on-site - Pashinyan

Pashinyan discussed issues regarding the export of Armenian goods

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on August 20 at a press briefing that Armenia offers Russian partners to check the quality of Armenian goods on-site. He noted that if there are indeed problems, they should be addressed together.

“What will this all end with? It will end with diversification. Even if the Russian market opens for Armenian goods now or in an hour, the process of diversification will continue,” said the Prime Minister.

Recall that since mid-2026, Russia has restricted the import of vegetables, fruits, flowers, fish, alcohol, and dairy products from Armenia. The Rosselkhoznadzor states that there are systematic violations of veterinary norms and a weak traceability system for goods from Armenian authorities.

To resume exports, Yerevan must provide the results of the investigation into violations, a report on inspections, and a clear plan for addressing the issues.

The restrictions coincide with the overall political tension and Armenia's course towards rapprochement with the European Union. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised to assist affected farmers with compensation and aims to diversify exports to other markets.
