World Bank Technical Assistance in Armenia

Discussions on World Bank's technical assistance programs

The head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Edward Hakobyan, hosted representatives of the technical mission from the World Bank, which provides consulting and analytical services under the "Peace Crossroads" initiative.

Edward Hakobyan emphasized the key role of the World Bank, highlighting the importance of continuing and expanding the long-term cooperation with the organization.

Current programs were discussed, including the digitization of the customs system, simplification and modernization of processes, as well as programs related to the application of artificial intelligence tools.

During the meeting, issues regarding the launch of the second phase of technical assistance provided by the World Bank under the "Peace Crossroads" initiative were also addressed, along with the framework for support in designing the TRIPP business model.

The parties agreed to clarify the framework of support to be provided by the World Bank, including in the area of digital connectivity, after separate targeted meetings.
