The volume of freight transportation in Armenia for the first half of the year amounted to 7,897.4 thousand tons, accelerating its annual growth from 1.9% to 4.2%.
This growth is attributed to the sustained upward dynamics of railway and air freight transport, as well as the acceleration of natural gas supplies via the main pipeline.
Rail freight transport growth slowed from 27.6% to 24.7%, totaling 917.3 thousand tons, while air freight transport accelerated from 8.7% to 12.8%, totaling 21.1 thousand tons.
Natural gas supplies also accelerated in annual growth from 1.7% to 16.6%, totaling 1,154.1 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, dominant road freight transport remained in decline, with annual growth rates slowing from 0.6% to 0.5%, totaling 5,804.8 thousand tons.
Passenger transport in Armenia in the first half of the year turned around from a 24.3% decline to a 10% growth, totaling 122,980.1 thousand people.
