The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, met on August 7 with representatives of the World Bank and the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia. Also present at the meeting was Lusine Gevorgyan, the head of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Improvement Program (TRIP), as well as issues related to improving its implementation mechanisms, streamlining, and accelerating processes. Emphasizing the program's role in developing tourism and modernizing regional infrastructure, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of planned activities.
The TRIP program is set to invest 120 million euros in the development of tourism clusters in Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan. The program aims to promote the development of wine, spa, adventure, cultural, educational, and eco-tourism.
