Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Armenian Ambassador to Russia Gurgen Arsenyan discussed current issues in Armenian-Russian relations at a meeting held on September 24, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The officials also reviewed cooperation between Moscow and Yerevan within Eurasian integration associations.
Both sides said they were ready to continue substantive talks on the future of Russian-Armenian relations within the framework of interstate dialogue.
Earlier, Sargis Khandanyan, chairman of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, said bilateral ties between Armenia and Russia require a fundamental transformation. In his view, Moscow cannot serve as Armenia’s security guarantor.
