On August 3, Hikmet Gadzhiev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, stated that official Baku welcomes the concept of 'Real Armenia' adopted by Yerevan. He noted that the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process is not limited to statements on paper:
Gadzhiev added that Azerbaijan has confirmed its commitment to peace through practical steps. "We positively assess the fact that the current Armenian administration has adopted the concept of 'Real Armenia' as a fundamental approach. We expect this to be included in its Constitution. We do not intend to interfere in Armenia's internal affairs," Gadzhiev said.
He also added that after the adoption of the new Constitution, there will be no problems with signing a peace agreement. "Our goal is to complete the peace processes between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as between Turkey and Armenia, conducting them in parallel," he added.
Gadzhiev noted that the opening of the so-called Zangezur corridor is part of a new geopolitical reality that meets both their interests and those of Armenia.
