A request to arrest Gagik Khachatryan, the former head of the State Revenue Committee and ex-Minister of Finance, has been submitted to the court, as reported by the Investigative Committee to "Azatutyun".
Earlier today, the Prosecutor General's Office announced that a new public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Gagik Khachatryan. This relates to bribery, embezzlement, illegal alienation of property, and concealing the criminal origin of funds.
The Investigative Committee also stated that a decision has been made to arrest the former head of the SRC, noting that searches have been conducted.
The legal team of the former SRC head claims that the 71-year-old Khachatryan's health condition does not allow him to participate in investigative actions. To prove this, the lawyers previously released videos from earlier actions, one of which shows Khachatryan being moved from a bed on a stretcher, while another allegedly shows him in court on a stretcher.
Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General's Office insists that "the commission's conclusion states that Khachatryan does not have any health issues that would prevent him from participating in any procedural actions in the criminal proceedings."
