Gagik Tsarukyan, a well-known entrepreneur, philanthropist, and leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, who is currently in custody, has called on the Public Committee created in his defense to fight for the rights of all those subjected to political persecution:
"Do not limit the activities of this committee solely to the protection of my rights. My request is that you become supporters and defenders of all our citizens who are currently subjected to political persecution in Armenia," Tsarukyan noted:
He also expressed gratitude for the initiative to create the Public Committee, which has been joined by around sixty prominent figures from various fields:
"Thank you all. It is difficult to express my sincere human feelings and gratitude to you in just a few words. I can only say this: I will never forget it," Tsarukyan stated:
Recall that on July 6, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party and entrepreneur Gagik Tsarukyan was detained and taken to the Investigative Committee of Armenia. He is accused of organizing fraud and money laundering in particularly large amounts.
