Armenia’s Deputy Finance Minister Edgar Mkrtchyan took part in a strategic meeting of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development, where participants reviewed the Fund’s performance in 2022-2026 and discussed priorities for the next five years, according to the Armenian Finance Ministry.
Under its new strategy, the EFSD plans to place greater emphasis on the long-term economic stability of its member states. It intends to allocate $1.5 billion to investment programs in the energy, water and transport sectors.
The Finance Ministry said the EFSD’s current project portfolio in Armenia stands at about $538 million and includes 10 active programs. Armenia’s state budget has also earmarked 37.2 billion drams for programs implemented with the Fund.
The Fund estimates Armenia’s economic growth at 5.5% for the year. It also plans to open an official permanent office in Armenia to coordinate projects on the ground.
