A new European Union program is being launched in Armenia aimed at strengthening preparedness for natural, technological, and humanitarian emergencies in the Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions.
This was reported by the press service of the EU delegation. The new 24-month preparedness program will enhance the capacities of 12 communities in Syunik and Vayots Dzor by strengthening coordination at national and local levels, raising public awareness, establishing early warning and response systems, and providing training and other necessary resources.
This initiative, valued at 1 million euros and co-financed by the EU's humanitarian aid agency, builds on already achieved results, such as the modernization of disaster risk management plans, provision of emergency supplies, and digital tools that will help communities effectively respond to emergencies and strengthen resilience for a safe future.
