The "For the Republic" party welcomes the decision to submit an official application for Armenia's membership in the European Union. We view this as a strategically significant step in Armenia's modern history aimed at strengthening our state's security, deepening democracy, protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms, establishing an independent and fair judicial system, economic development, and the well-being of citizens, and ultimately ensuring the sovereignty and longevity of the Republic of Armenia.
Membership in the European Union has never been merely a question of foreign policy orientation for us. It is primarily a choice of state quality, citizen dignity, the rule of law, and the long-term development and security of Armenia. With this decision, Armenia enters a new phase of responsibility. Full compliance with the Copenhagen criteria should become Armenia's next nationwide goal, requiring profound democratic, legal, economic, and institutional reforms.
