Former Yerevan Official Charged with Illegal Land Transfer

The Anti-Corruption Committee has completed the preliminary investigation

The Anti-Corruption Committee has charged a former official of the Yerevan municipality who served as the head of the architecture and urban planning department from 2010 to 2018. He abused his official position, causing significant harm to the legitimate interests of the state.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the official provided false information to the mayor to illegally change the intended use of a 2500 square meter land plot and transfer it illegally to the son of the deputy mayor.

Additionally, he issued a false conclusion to register property rights in the name of the wife of the head of the security service, which contradicts the norms established by the Land Code.

As a result, the land plot was illegally transferred to a company for over 24 million drams, causing significant harm to the rights and legitimate interests of the public.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case has been completed, and charges have been brought against the former municipal official.
