"For the fourth day, the new assembly is forming the parliament, and we are now discussing the candidacy of Mr. Vardanyan as the opposition's candidate for the deputy speaker of the parliament. Mr. Vardanyan, there is significant progress on the part of the opposition, in my humble opinion, because I could not help but notice that from the beginning of your speech to the end, you were justifying yourself as to why you want to be the deputy speaker in the government established in Armenia by the so-called Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem," stated Sona Ghazaryan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, in her speech in parliament.
According to her, Vardanyan was making a lot of effort for this, but she wants him to realize that this indicates that the opposition is finally noticing that there is a people in Armenia who are the bearer of power and the only subject that forms power.
"This is a significant progress, because when I remember 2021, when you were there trying to force the acting faction to choose Vazgen Manukyan, you did not notice at all that there is a people. Now you notice that there is a people to whom you promised to form a majority, but you could not, and now you are justifying yourself," Ghazaryan said.
She added that Vardanyan probably has not seen the reel of the leader of the Strong Armenia faction, Narek Karapetyan, about the 300 thousand Azerbaijanis, otherwise he would have spoken about existential threats.
