The EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, announced on August 7 that five individuals linked to the Russian defense industry have been added to the EU's sanctions list to increase pressure on Moscow. He wrote this on the social media platform X.
“In response to recent Russian airstrikes, the EU has today approved new sanctions against five individuals associated with the Russian defense industry,” he stated on X.
He noted that each new attack on Ukraine is another reason for Europe to strengthen its pressure on Russia. Borrell added that EU pressure should continue until Moscow stops the war. He did not disclose the names of those included in the sanctions list.
