The EU has confirmed military aid to Ukraine amounting to €6.1 billion on the country's Independence Day. This is part of a €90 billion support loan from the EU for Ukraine for 2026 and 2027. The aid is intended to help defend against Russian aggression.
According to the European Commission, the funds will be used for the acquisition of air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radars. The money will be disbursed after Kyiv presents contracts with defense companies.
