Economist: Amendments to the Law by the Armenian Government Raise Concerns

The amendments may lead to issues

The amendments adopted by the Armenian government to the law "On the Structure and Activities of the Government" raise several problematic issues. Economist Aikaz Fanyan expressed this on his Facebook page.

According to him, the proposed bill suggests renaming the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, which would assign it functions related to promoting foreign trade and attracting foreign investments.

Fanyan highlights the risks of losing time in forming new policies, which could take up to two years. He emphasizes that the policy for promoting exports should remain under the Ministry of Economy's control, but the changes limit its powers.

The economist urges deputies to vote against this bill, as it could negatively impact Armenia's economic development.
