Automated e-gate systems to be implemented at Armenia's border checkpoints

Automated e-gate systems will be introduced at Armenia's border checkpoints

YEREVAN, August 18. /ARKA/. Automated e-gate systems (electronic checkpoint) are planned to be implemented at Armenia's border checkpoints, alongside the use of biometric passports, the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs reports:

The e-gate is an automated and contactless border crossing system that will allow for quick passage through border control without the involvement of a border guard after scanning a passport. The system automatically identifies the individual, speeds up the border control process, and reduces waiting times:

Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, along with Deputy Director of the National Security Service David Sananyan, visited Zvartnots Airport the day before to familiarize themselves with the preparatory work for the implementation of the systems:

The minister was presented with the infrastructure solutions necessary for the placement, launch, and maintenance of the e-gate systems:

On the same day, Sargsyan also reviewed the construction progress and technical equipping of the office of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is in its final stages, located in one of Yerevan's shopping centers:

The necessity of adhering to construction quality standards and completing the work within the established deadlines was emphasized:

The project and logistical solutions for the offices, constructed by the company 'HayPass', are based on the 'one-stop-shop' principle, which will help reduce queues and crowding, administrative complexities, and significantly save citizens' time:
