According to data published by the Central Bank of Armenia, as of July 2026, the ratio of foreign currency deposits and loans of residents to the money supply (D1) was 27.2%, which is a decrease of 2.8 percentage points compared to the comparable figure for 2025.
The ratio of foreign currency deposits and loans of residents to total deposits and loans of residents (D2) also decreased by 3.7 percentage points, totaling 31.5%:
The share of foreign currency demand deposits and loans of resident individuals to total demand deposits and loans of resident individuals (D3) was 42.3%, which is a decrease of 1.2 percentage points compared to March 2025.
The share of foreign currency time deposits and loans of resident individuals to total time deposits and loans of resident individuals (D4) was 36.1%, which is 5.7 percentage points lower than the comparable period in 2025.
Regarding the ratio of foreign currency loans to total loans to residents (D5), it increased by 0.6 percentage points, totaling 31.6%:
Armenian commercial banks and credit organizations continue to attract more funds from abroad and, therefore, aim to allocate them in the currency in which they were attracted to avoid foreign exchange risks.
