A total of €258 million has already been mobilised under the Resilient Syunik Team Europe initiative in Armenia’s Syunik region. The funding is being invested in infrastructure, business and skills development, education and social services, as well as the responsible management of natural resources to support the region’s long-term socio-economic development.
On the second day of Team Europe’s visit to Syunik, partners, community leaders and regional authorities took part in a roundtable discussion to review progress under the initiative and identify the needs that should shape the next stage of joint work.
On September 23, the initiative’s partners also reviewed results on the ground. They met representatives of a local dairy producer in Kapan, looked at how investments have improved access to drinking water in Lehvaz, and visited Meghri Fruits.
According to the source, Team Europe’s support has helped Meghri Fruits expand production, create new jobs and enter new export markets.
The initiative brings together support across several sectors with the aim of strengthening Syunik’s resilience and reinforcing the foundations for the region’s long-term development.
