Dilijan Grows Faster than Armenia's Tourism Market

The city welcomed 243.8 thousand visitors in 2025

Dilijan continues to strengthen its position as one of the most dynamically growing tourist destinations in Armenia. In 2025, according to Meet Dilijan's estimates, the city welcomed about 243,800 visitors, which is a 5.7% increase compared to the previous year. In 2024, the number of visitors was 230,658.

The growth of Dilijan has been maintained for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the tourist flow to the city increased by 11.1%, while international arrivals in Armenia decreased by 4.7% during the same period. In 2025, the city's growth also outpaced the national dynamics: 5.7% compared to 2.5%.

One in three visitors is from abroad

According to Meet Dilijan's estimates, 63.5% of visitors are residents of Armenia, or about 154,800 people. Another 36.5%, or about 89,000, are guests from abroad. This category includes foreign tourists, representatives of the Armenian diaspora, expats, and citizens of Armenia living abroad.

Dilijan as an independent destination

Meet Dilijan notes that the city is gradually moving beyond the traditional format of weekend trips or short stops on the way to Lake Parz and monasteries. "More and more people are choosing Dilijan as an independent place for several days," says project manager Diana Aslanyan.

The next growth point - international audience

Meet Dilijan believes that further growth in tourist flow is primarily related to increasing international recognition of Dilijan and its visibility among travelers already considering Armenia as a vacation destination.
