The opposition faction Strong Armenia of the National Assembly has nominated David Kazinyan for the position of head of the territorial management and environmental protection commission:
Earlier, on August 14, Kazinyan stated in parliament that Armenia is considered an energy self-sufficient country. He noted that the Prime Minister's statement about the construction of two nuclear blocks using solar energy actually refers to solar power plants, not nuclear:
“If these two ‘nuclear power plants’ do not have an energy storage system, it becomes more of a danger than a benefit. In other words, when supply exceeds demand, it is a very serious problem,” he said.
Kazinyan also mentioned that there is an issue with the construction of the Armenia-Georgia power transmission line, which is considered a continuation of the Iran-Armenia line, and its construction has stalled.
