Daniel Azatyan: In the first half of the year, interest rates on retail and corporate loans decreased slightly

The head of the Union of Banks of Armenia presented changes in loan interest rates

Daniel Azatyan, the head of the Union of Banks of Armenia, reported that in June 2026, the interest rates on retail dram loans with a repayment term of 1 to 5 years decreased by 0.4 percentage points compared to December 2025. Meanwhile, the interest rate on dram deposits remained at 9.5%.

According to Azatyan, the interest rate on dollar retail loans with a repayment term of 1 to 5 years increased by 0.3 percentage points in June 2026, while the interest rate on dollar deposits rose by 0.1 percentage points to 4.1%.

As of June 30, 2026, the share of dram loans was 65%, while dollar loans accounted for 35%.
