China's export volume in July increased by 23.9% year-on-year, reaching $397.85 billion. This was reported by the country's General Administration of Customs.
During the same period, imports grew by 27.5%, reaching $285.35 billion.
According to Trading Economics, analysts had forecast an average increase of 22.2% for exports and 27.9% for imports.
In July, China's exports to the USA increased by 17.05%, to Japan by 14%, to South Korea by 46.6%, to ASEAN countries by 38.36%, and to EU countries by 15.95%.
China's positive trade balance last month was $112.5 billion, compared to $125.62 billion in June and $97.7 billion in July of the previous year.
For the first seven months of the current year, the trade surplus amounted to $687.37 billion, compared to $683.5 billion a year earlier.
From January to July, China's exports increased by 18.5%, reaching $2.52 trillion, while imports rose by 26.7% to $1.83 trillion.
