Shares of Unitree Robotics recently closed the trading session at over 460% above their initial price after the Chinese humanoid robot manufacturer debuted on the Shanghai stock exchange. CNBC reports that prior to this, shares had risen nearly 630%, but later lost some of that gain, closing at 845 yuan (about $125).
The robot manufacturer based in Hangzhou, whose machines capable of performing backflips and dancing have garnered global attention, raised approximately 6.1 billion yuan ($905 million) during its IPO, according to the company's filings.
The IPO was also supported by Chinese firm DeepSeek, which invested around 140.8 million yuan, company documents show. Among Unitree's investors is also the Chinese tech giant Tencent.
Unitree's product line includes bipedal humanoid robots that can walk and manipulate objects with flexible arms, as well as quadrupedal robots used for tasks such as detecting hazards.
