YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. China Southern Airlines is considering opening a Yerevan-Shanghai route following the launch of the Yerevan-Urumqi route, said Sergey Avanesov, chairman of the Armenian-Chinese Relations Regional Development Fund.
“This significantly stimulates bilateral relations. The number of regular flights to China has increased manifold and operates almost around the clock. Last year, 35,000 Chinese tourists visited Armenia, and this year, according to forecasts, their number will reach 100,000. In this regard, China will become the second country after Russia,” Avanesov noted in an interview with Armenpress.
He reported that the Fund is also cooperating with large Chinese logistics companies that have representations worldwide.
“We can deliver Armenian goods to China at affordable prices within two weeks. In addition to air transport, there is also the possibility of rail transport, as Chengdu has a well-developed international railway hub. They are ready to transport goods. In China, we have a ready large base where we can store and distribute goods. We need state support,” Avanesov said.
According to him, “the certification of goods usually takes about three months, but if our customs service contacts Chinese partners, we are ready to assist and resolve certification issues within a week.”
“For example, it is very difficult to import tobacco products into China; however, we have agreed to distribute this type of goods through Duty Free networks,” Avanesov noted.
