As of January 1, 2026, the number of insured citizens has increased by 14%, and while at the beginning of the year there were 1.6 million beneficiaries, as of June, the number has reached 1.8 million, with 762,404 utilizing the services included in the insurance package.
Samvel Kharazyan, the acting director of the Universal Health Insurance Fund, noted that the increase in beneficiaries earning 200,000 drams or more has exceeded 30%, which he attributes to the importance of the health insurance system.
"This clearly shows that the system has been anticipated, and the accessibility of the services included in the insurance package has directed our citizens to approach their employers," he stated.
Kharazyan also mentioned that every second insured person has utilized the services of the insurance package or received some medication.
"Co-payment was applied in the first 5 months, but citizens began to raise this issue starting in June. We are currently gathering information and examining whether the application of co-payment was by the director's order and when it was approved," he added.
