Stock futures rose early Wednesday after softer-than-expected inflation data supported the market.
Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average were just above the flatline, S&P 500 futures gained 0.21%, while Nasdaq 100 futures added 0.77%.
The U.S. consumer price index fell 0.4% in June, bringing the annual inflation rate to 3.5%.
This report prompted traders to scale back expectations for near-term Fed tightening.
European stocks opened broadly lower, while Asia-Pacific markets mostly rose.
Investors will turn their attention to earnings reports from United Airlines, Morgan Stanley, Johnson & Johnson, and BlackRock.
