U.S. spot ether exchange-traded funds recorded roughly $39 million in net outflows on Thursday, marking a third consecutive session of withdrawals. Data from SoSoValue showed that about $224 million left those funds on Wednesday and another $141 million on Tuesday. Even so, ether itself gained about 2% over the same period, rising to roughly $2,470.
XRP-linked funds also ended the day in negative territory, posting about $5 million in outflows and reversing the modest inflow seen a day earlier. By contrast, bitcoin ETFs attracted around $159 million. The only U.S. Zcash fund added nearly $47 million, its strongest daily result so far this month, lifting monthly inflows to more than $230 million.
Despite the recent withdrawals, ether funds remain more than $1.5 billion in positive territory over the past 30 days, while bitcoin funds are still ahead by nearly $2.5 billion.
In price action, Zcash again led the major tokens, rising 10% to about $1,488. hyperliquid's HYPE followed closely with an almost 10% gain to just above $86. Solana advanced 5% to nearly $105, while BNB climbed almost 4% to around $750. Dogecoin added about 4%, ether and XRP each rose 2%, and bitcoin gained more than 1% to roughly $77,216. According to CoinDesk data, Tron was the only major token that barely moved.
Traditional markets also traded higher. Stocks and bonds rallied as oil prices fell, one day after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since 2023. The S&P 500 rose about 1% for its biggest gain in six weeks, the Nasdaq 100 added nearly 2%, and a chipmaker index climbed 3%.
The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell, snapping an eight-day streak of increases, while the dollar was little changed. Gold moved higher and Brent crude settled below $105 a barrel.
Market participants said cheaper oil helped ease some inflation concerns that the Federal Reserve had sought to address with its rate increase. Against that backdrop, crypto assets traded all week on the same macro signal as traditional markets.
Attention is now turning to flows into the Zcash fund, which has continued to attract money even on days when the two biggest crypto ETFs are losing it. Whether that pattern persists into next week will be a key point for investors to watch.
