Banks in Armenia to Provide Citizens with Free Account Statements

Statements will be provided in electronic and paper formats

YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. Individuals in Armenia will be able to receive free electronic statements about their bank accounts, balances, and the presence or absence of mutual obligations with the bank at commercial banks. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia.

The corresponding amendment was introduced by the CB Council into regulation 8/05 'Rules of Conduct for Financial Organizations' based on feedback from consumers.

Such statements will be provided free of charge in electronic form. Clients will be able to receive a paper version free of charge at least once during each calendar year.

According to the Central Bank, the changes aim to strengthen individuals' rights to obtain information about their status in the banking system, ensure the availability of relevant information, and enhance the accessibility and transparency of financial services.
