The American largest investor and billionaire Warren Buffett announced that he no longer intends to make donations to the charitable foundation of Microsoft founder Bill Gates. This was reported on July 15 by the British newspaper Financial Times (FT).
The businessman has removed the Gates Foundation from his list of annual donation recipients. As a result, the Gates charitable foundation will lose $6 billion.
Buffett stated that over the next eight years, he plans to direct all funds to four family foundations. According to the publication, the Gates organization was removed from the list of recipients after a series of revelations about Gates' connections with the scandalous financier Jeffrey Epstein.
On June 30, The Wall Street Journal also reported that 95-year-old Buffett had refused to cooperate with the Gates Foundation. It was noted that for the first time in 20 years, the investor canceled regular donations to the charitable foundation of the Microsoft co-founder due to the latter's involvement in the Epstein scandal.
Materials related to the Epstein case began to be published on December 20, 2025, after U.S. President Donald Trump signed a bill for their disclosure on November 19 of the same year. Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi published a list of more than 300 famous people mentioned in the financier's case materials on February 14. In particular, it was noted that the text includes the names of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, current President Joe Biden, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, as well as singer Beyoncé.
