Members of Armenia’s National Assembly received AMD 590,000 each in bonuses marking the 35th anniversary of independence, an amount equal to one month of their salary. The information was reported by Factor.am, citing one of the lawmakers.
Based on that calculation, the total paid to the parliament’s 105 members alone came to AMD 62 million.
Bonuses were also paid to employees of the National Assembly staff. However, National Assembly Chief of Staff Davit Hambaryan did not disclose the relevant figures, saying he had nothing to add to the order signed by the parliamentary speaker.
At the same time, the speaker’s order did not specify the overall budget allocated for the bonuses.
The report also notes that the government plans to significantly raise officials’ salaries starting January 1, 2027. A total of AMD 25 billion is expected to be allocated from the state budget for that purpose.
