Stock Market Today: Live Updates

Stock market continues its decline

Stock futures were nearly flat early Wednesday after surging bond yields and oil prices led Wall Street lower for a third straight day.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 14 points. S&P 500 futures were marginally lower and Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 0.3%.

In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 declined 2.80% while the Topix dropped 2.18%. Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX 200 was 1.17% lower.

The Dow fell more than 400 points. Technology stocks dragged the market lower, with the Nasdaq Composite sliding by around 1%.

West Texas Intermediate oil prices jumped above $90 per barrel on Tuesday, marking its highest level since late July, as the U.S. launched more military strikes on Iran.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield climbed to its highest level since early 2025 on Tuesday.

“Higher yields are proving to be the stock market’s undoing,” said Thierry Wizman.

Investors will watch for the ADP's private payrolls data for August.
