Armenia and France Discuss Prospects for Trade and Economic Cooperation

Possibilities for Exporting Armenian Products Discussed

Armenia and France discussed prospects for trade and economic cooperation. During a meeting on June 29, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies discussed possibilities for exporting Armenian products.

Papoyan noted that one of the government's priorities is the diversification of exports, which includes the importance of expanding the presence of high-quality Armenian products in the markets of the European Union, including France.

They also discussed issues related to activating business ties between Armenian producers and French companies, organizing B2B meetings, and promoting Armenian products in the French market.

According to the data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the EU increased by 45.2% in January-April 2026, reaching $1.058 billion. Meanwhile, exports rose by 97.3% to $355.7 million.

It is worth noting that Russian authorities imposed restrictions on the export of agricultural products and flowers from Armenia, affecting about 90% of fresh agricultural products traditionally exported to the Russian market.

In light of this situation, the government has developed several support programs for exports to European markets, including compensation for transportation costs and customs duties.
